Happy Thanksgiving!
It's Thanksgiving morning!
Started off my day with a warm cup of coffee, some cuddles with my baby boy and husband, while enjoying some great soccer. I was strolling through social media and started to see some appreciation posts from my friends and family. I also noticed that in one of the group pages quite a few members were offering free stuff ( food, toys for kids, and clothing) to families in need, along with people offering to help when someone would post that they needed some assistance. It warmed my heart! The posts reminded me that we are a community and play an important role in offering our support and love to our neighbors. We almost always get consumed by the negative news or stories where something bad occurred, shadowing the positive things going on around us or making us believe that people can be undeserving. It was a great reminder that one small act of random kindness can make a difference, not just in someone's life but those around them.
Amelia Earhart once said, "A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees." These posts of giving and kindness towards complete strangers are a prime example of what thanksgiving represents. It's not about the delicious food and finding the best deals on black Friday, but being appreciative of what we have and expressing our gratitude towards our loved ones.
Remember ...
"For the beauties and abundance of the earth,
for family near and far,
for friends old and new,
for the gift of each brand new day
and the chance to make a difference,
Let us give Thanks!"
